Maintenance Supervisor

This position is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in supervising the maintenance department. The Supervisor will be responsible to provide direction in maintaining machinery and equipment on a day-to-day basis by repairing, installing, adjusting or troubleshooting to ensure production is running efficiently.

 Essential Functions of the Position (Responsibilities)

  • Oversees the day to day operations of the maintenance department and maintenance staff.

  • Maintaining equipment to ensure production goals are met.

  • Manage inventory and parts in CMMS system.

  • Will assist Maintenance Manager in providing leadership and direction to maintenance staff.

  • Communication with other department to schedule equipment maintenance in an effort to minimize down time

  • Provide emergency repairs of equipment during operation.

  • Will perform regular/scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs of production equipment and facilities.

  • Responsible for diagnosing problem, will replace or repair parts, and test to ensure equipment is running correctly.

  • Perform mechanical skills including, mechanical, electrical pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.

  • Assist with installment of equipment

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals in order to complete required maintenance.

  • Use a variety of hand tools, electric meters, and operate a forklift.

  • Communicate and cooperate with all other departments and coworkers.

  • Comply with safety regulations and policies.

  • Carry company cell phone as required for on-call maintenance.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate

  • Prior industrial maintenance experience

  • Welding and torch skills a plus

  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and plumbing

  • Must have a current valid driver’s license to operate Company vehicle.

  • Boiler certification is a plus.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Ability to climb 100 feet.
